Enhancements

The Corby Sixth Form A-Levels

At The Corby Sixth Form, enhancement is a core part of all programmes for all students

Every week you will have one session built into your timetable for enhancement. There are a wide range of activities on offer which aim to aim to be fun, challenging and also strengthen your CV or university application. A wide variety of activities will be on offer and you will be asked to select 1 activity for each of the 3 terms in each year of study. This means a typical student can participate in up to 6 different activities across a typical 2 year programme.

You might pick an activity because it’s already of interest to you and you want to learn more, to add variety to your studies or to try something completely new!

We will be asking new students to pick their enhancement options on our Welcome Day and during inductions. You should have at least 3 choices and some reserves as places are limited.

WORK EXPERIENCE

Work experience is also a core part of all programmes at The Corby Sixth Form. Quality work experience supports personal development, UCAS applications and CV’s. Both universities and employers highly regard the value of work experience for young people.

We will allocate a week during your programme year where you will be expected to be on a work placement for 30 hours. Placements must not be part-time jobs that students already have and we encourage our students to find work placements related to their subjects or future career path.

We have a dedicated Work Placement Coordinator to support students in sourcing and arranging placements.
