The Corby Sixth Form A-Levels

YOUR GUIDE TO ENROLMENT

Our enrolment process is designed to ensure you are enrolled on to the right subject at the right level for you.

We have written this guide to provide answers to some of the questions you may have about the enrolment process and information about what you will be expected to provide on the day.

STAGES OF ENROLMENT

There are four simple steps to enrolment, they are as follows:

  • On Thursday 22 August you will receive your online enrolment link
  • Complete the form uploading your results, ID and proof of identity
  • Attend your in person enrolment slot on either Friday 23 or Tuesday 27 August
  • Leave with all your timetable information ready to start w/c 9 September.

What happens next?

1. GCSE Results Day

Upload your results, ID and photo.

2. You will soon be a student

Attend your enrolment meeting at the Sixth Form.

3. Term starts

Term starts on Monday 9 September 2024. We look forward to welcoming you!

Frequently asked questions

1. When can I enrol on to my course?

Our enrolment process begins on-site from Friday 23 August 2024. If you have accepted a conditional offer with us, you will have already received an invitation by email to make an appointment for enrolment on either Friday 23 August or Tuesday 27 August.

We are expecting to be busy so please book early to get the day that is most convenient for you.

2. Where do I go to enrol?

The Corby Sixth Form is at 44 Queen’s Square, Corby, in the town centre. The postcode is NN17 1QN.

When you arrive, please enter via the main reception. You will be directed to meet with an enrolment tutor.

3. What happens at my enrolment meeting?
You will meet with an enrolment tutor who will check your GCSE grades and discuss the subjects that you have chosen.
Once they are happy that you have selected an appropriate programme, and confirmed that the subject choices can be taken as a combination, they will complete an enrolment form with you.
4. What do I need to do before attending my enrolment appointment?

You will receive an email containing a link to a form where you will be able complete the following steps:

  1. Enter your name and email address
  2. Upload your proof of qualifications and your GCSE English and maths results.
  3. Upload a photo of yourself
  4. Upload proof of ID
  5. Sign the declaration

The photograph you provide will be used for your Student ID badge for the year.

It should be a recent photo, a true likeness and fit the following criteria:

  • Passport photo size
  • JPG format and 5mb maximum
  • In full colour
  • On a plain background
  • You should be facing forward and looking straight at the camera
  • Your eyes should be open, visible, and free from reflection or glare from glasses (no sunglasses)
  • Should not contain other objects, people or animals
  • No hats or caps (unless it is for religious or medical reasons)
  • No sticking out tongue and/or pulling faces
  • No filters/effects applied
5. What do I do if I can't upload my photo or qualifications?

If you are struggling with accessing the system or have problems with any of the steps involved, please contact our Customer Contact Centre via Live Chat on our website, or email info@bedfordcollegegroup.ac.uk and we will help you complete your enrolment.

6. What if I don't get the results I expected?

So long as you have met the standard entry requirements to be a student at The Corby Sixth Form, we will give you advice during your enrolment meeting to help you enrol on to a programme that is suitable for you.

7. Are there any extra costs associated with my course?

Details about any costs for equipment, uniforms, trips and visits etc., can be found on our website: www.corbysixthform.ac.uk

8. How do I apply for financial support?

The Sixth Form offers a range of financial support through our 16-19 bursaries to help young people where household income is £40,000 or less.

Students must be aged 16-18 on 31 August 2024.

We have five bursary schemes:

  • Course Cost Bursary
  • Discretionary Hardship Bursary
  • Meals Bursary
  • Travel Bursary
  • Vulnerable Learner Bursary

9. How do I find out about the Academic Excellence Bursary?

You may qualify for this £2,000 bursary if you achieve five GCSEs grade 7 and above including English Language and maths. You will need to study our full-time A-Level (or equivalent Level 3) programme.

This bursary is not means tested and the £2,000 is paid over two years, subject to meeting our terms and conditions. We will check your eligibility as part of your enrolment meeting.

The registration for the bursary is not the same as your enrolment at the Sixth Form.
